Job Description:

Eckert’s Rod & Custom located in beautiful North West Oregon is looking for an Metal Fabricator, who would like the opportunity to work towards a long and rewarding career at ERC.

It’s an exciting time to bring your skills to ERC. We are a growing shop with lots of new and exciting builds, and this position plays a critical role in ensuring we maintain our excellent attention to detail and leading class quality. The builds we do here at ERC are a blend of the classic styling of the 50s and 60s with new modern performance, comforts, and amenities you would see in a high-end sports car today. We're looking for a hard-working team member who knows the ins and outs of metal fabrication and has the skills and knowledge to assist in building and designing frame and body components. A lot of the vehicles we build are handcrafted from trunk all the way to the hood. This position is a curtail to keeping our shop and projects running smoothly.

 

Primary Job Duties:

  • Assist in building custom frames

  • Assist in MIG and TIG welding

  • Fabricating temporary and permanent fixtures to assist in frame building and design.

  • Assist in basic and advanced sheet metal fabrication.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

 

Knowledge of:

  • TIG welding

  • MIG welding

  • Safe work practices

  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge

 

Skills in:

  • Metal shaping

  • Reading and Obtaining diagrams and instructions

  • Use of hand tools

  • Use of power tools

  • Use of English wheel and or Power hammer

 

Ability to:

  • Maintain effective working relationships with other members of a work team

  • Maintain neat, accurate, and legible records


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following requirements:

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

 

Experience:

  • One or more years’ experience in metal fabrication.
